Winter at
TIMBER WLF
LODGE is truly a magical time. As the first snow begins to fall,
the challenge of icy adventures draw us back outdoors.
Cross Country skiers can blaze a trail through our 75 acres of woods, or take
it easier on the groomed Bear Island Ski Trail located just across the road from
our resort property. Either way, you'll have an excellent opportunity to see deer,
moose and perhaps, a timber wolf. Snowmobilers (you can bring your own, or rent
one here) will enjoy the short open run to the far end of Bear Island Lake, where
the Taconite Spur Trail begins. And for those a little more adventuresome, we'll
be happy to arrange to have you whisked into the wilderness, and back, by an experienced
guide and frisky team of sled dogs. After a day full of activities, why not relax
in our wood-fired Finnish sauna. Evening calls for snowshoeing under frosty pines
by the light of the moon, and a return to your cozy cabin to sip hot chocolate
in front of a roaring fire.
