TIMBER WOLF’S OWN CORINNE MURILLO TO CONDUCT GUEST TOURS THIS YEAR.
Corinne is a graduate of the Outdoor Leadership Backcountry Guide Program at Vermillion College in Ely. She hold a certificate as a Wilderness First Responder from the Wilderness Medical Association and another from the ACA Sea Kayaking program. Corinne has a passion for the outdoors and education. She is a former Wilderness Leader for the Minnesota Conservation Corp.
One Mile Naturalist Hike: (Free)
Our 75 wooded acres includes a one mile hiking trail. Corinne will lead an easy hike along our trail and stop to educate our guests about various native species of plants, flowers and trees. We want this to be an easy and educational experience for all. This one mile hike departs from the Beach House several times during each week.
Kayak Instruction: (Free)
Corinne holds a Sea Kayaking Certificate and will introduce you to this quiet and peaceful sport right here on Bear Island Lake.
Canoe Instruction: (Free)
Whether you are a party of one or an entire family, Corinne will train you to become an effective canoeist. She received her certification from the American Canoe Association.
Bear Island Adventure Hikes: (Free)
You will join Corinne by canoe, kayak or boat as you depart our dock for Bear Island. It is by far the largest of the 21 islands on our lake. Bear Island is a remote island that is managed by the U.S. Forestry Service. Your tour will include a strenuous hike of the shoreline and interior of Bear Island as well as outdoor lessons from Corinne. A special moment for kids and adults alike is when Corinne shows you how to create fire with your bare hands!
North Shore Extreme Nature Hikes: ($25 per)
For our more adventurous guests Corinne will depart weekly for extreme nature hiking along the North Shore of Lake Superior. For insurance purposes our guests are required to drive to the hike location. Reservations required.
